At Windsor Eye Care, we are intentional about the lens options and lens treatments we recommend to our patients. The lenses and lens treatments prescribed at our office have been backed by decades of research. Blue Light Filters

Blue light filtering technology does just that—filters out harmful, high-energy light waves. Excessive blue light can lead to disrupted sleep and increase headaches or eye strain. Investing in a blue light feature for your eyewear is a recommended choice for prolonged computer or digital device users.

Anti-Reflective Coatings

An anti-reflective or anti-glare coating is a treatment designed to minimize the amount of glare or reflections through your eyeglass lenses. We carry Crizal Non-Glare to improve your vision, reduce eye strain, and give your glasses a cleaner appearance.

UV-Blocking Coatings

The sun’s ultraviolet rays can increase your risk of developing conditions like cataracts and age-related macular degeneration. A UV-blocking coating can help protect your eyes from the sun’s rays, and can be added to both sunglasses and clear eyeglass lenses.

Scratch Resistant Coatings

A scratch-resistant coating is a great way to increase the durability and longevity of your lenses, as they can prevent your lenses from getting scratched easily. We understand normal wear-and-tear happens so adding this coating can help give you peace of mind and protection for your lenses.

High-Index Lenses

It is normal for people to need strong prescription lenses to correct their vision (you know who you are). For those individuals, we use high-index lenses to not only reduce thickness of the lens for aesthetic benefits, but also to improve quality of vision.

Transition Lenses

Photochromic lenses work by reacting to UV light. They change color and adjust their tint in response to light exposure. Under bright light, these lenses can darken, and under normal light, they are clear. This is suitable for the patient who only wants to carry one pair of glasses. Windsor Eye Care uses name-brand Transition lenses which are available in 8 different color palettes.

Progressive Lenses

Progressive lenses correct multiple ranges of vision so that activities, like reading a book, driving, and working on your computer can be performed with one pair of glasses.
